Wildlife Encounters Junior Camp Counselor Program Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Wildlife Encounters Summer Camp program at Wildlife Encounters of Gretna, NE. The Junior Counselor program is an excellent opportunity those 14 years of age or older interested in animal and environment science to discover, learn, explore and apply significant skills. Junior Counselors will have fun earning volunteer hours and gaining valuable experience!  Wildlife Encounters Junior Counselors will work primarily with the education staff to assist with summer camp programs and activities.  Wildlife Encounters will require participants to attend our introduction/interactive learning program prior to summer camp.

Junior Counselor Participants will be responsible for the following under the supervision of our camp counselors and staff:
• Assist staff with the implementation of camp programs (e.g. science programing, setting up activities for Senior Camp Counselors, animal themed arts and crafts and other camp activities)
• Care for animal ambassadors
• Assist with gathering materials, setting-up, and breaking down the day’s activities
